Indulge the Movement - Contemporary Dance for All / Esete Sutinen

During Esete Sutinen’s course, movement is explored with music, gaze, space, and silence.

On this course we surrender to the exploration of our internal bodily states through gaze, allowing movement and breath to guide us. Through movement improvisation and dancing to music, it is delved into the interplay between body, gaze, and space with various individual and group exercises.

The course is open to everyone, and no previous dance background is required.

Esete Sutinen is a Helsinki-based dance and performing artist with over 20 years of experience in the Finnish art scene. She commenced her career as a freelance dancer in 2002 while pursuing her studies. Sutinen is extensively involved in various forms of dance, theatre, performance, installation, opera, and performing arts. In 2005, she graduated with a Master of Arts in dance from the Theatre Academy of Uniarts Helsinki. Throughout her career, Sutinen has performed several times in Zodiak’s repertoire most recently in Matriarchy, which premiered in December 2022 at Pauliina Feodoroff's Venice Biennale in the Sámi Pavilion. Sutinen spent autumn 2023 working on his own work Rest as a ... in Turku, where the work premiered at the XS New Dance and Performing Arts Festival in November-December 2023.
